The P2EVAL_96MB_PSRAM is a memory board design to connect directly to a pair of 12-pin headers on a P2 Eval compatible board
Uses twelve 64 Mbit (8 MByte) PSRAM chips for 96 MB total on a single 8-bit bus (chip part # is APS6404L-3SQR-SN)
Can be used to run the MegaYume and NeoYume emulators (thanks to P2 forum member Wuerfel_21)
MegaYume
is a Sega Genesis emulator that can play virtually all the games with this 96 MB board (really only the
24 MB version
is needed)
NeoYume
is a NeoGeo emulator that can run a very many of the games and this board is the only way at the moment to play the large ones.
Both MegaYume and (later) NeoYume are discussed in great length in this
P2 forum thread
Note: Boards are tested by starting several games in NeoYume. They have not yet been proven to be flawless and may have hidden errors.
Can be used for VGA video memory or as general purpose memory with an excellent driver written by P2 forum member Rogloh
Details on this driver can be found in
this forum thread
and it is also used by both MegaYume and NeoYume
