The P2EVAL_24MB_PSRAM is a small memory board design to connect directly to a single 12-pin header on a P2 Eval compatible board
Uses three 64 Mbit (8 MByte) PSRAM chips for 24 MB total on a single 4-bit bus (chip part # is APS6404L-3SQR-SN)
Can be used to run the MegaYume and NeoYume emulators (thanks to P2 forum member Wuerfel_21)
MegaYume
is a Sega Genesis emulator that can play virtually all the games with this 24 MB board
NeoYume
is a NeoGeo emulator that can run a few games with 24 MB, but a lot more with
96 MB board
Both MegaYume and (later) NeoYume are discussed in great length in this
P2 forum thread
Note: Boards are tested by starting a couple games in NeoYume. They have not yet been proven to be flawless and may have hidden errors.
Can be used for VGA video memory or as general purpose memory with an excellent driver written by P2 forum member Rogloh
Details on this driver can be found in
this forum thread
and it is also used by both MegaYume and NeoYume
